MESSNER MOUNTAIN MUSEUM ‘CORONES’
Mountaineering legend Reinhold Messner chose the Plan de Corones as the site for his 6th Messner Mountain Museum (MMM) because of its unique location. At 2,275 m above sea level, the extraordinary exhibition covers the subject of rock and the life of mountaineers. A large part of the museum is underground as this leaves most of the landscape undisturbed and also avoids additional construction on the summit. Exhibits from Messner’s own collections illustrate the valuable information.
